INTRODUCING
We're American teachers living and working in Tangier, Morocco. Our three grown children live in the U.S. and we like to visit them and other family members in the summer. If you are interested in an extended vacation in Morocco, contact us! Besides enjoying all that Tangier has to offer you, you can also visit lots of places in Morocco as well as take a ferry ride to Spain, using our apartment as a hub for your travels. About Our Home
American teachers' apartment in Tangier, Morocco available for your summer experience! Our apartment is one which will feel comfortable to a traveler who is not used to visiting this side of the world. It's like an apartment back home. The apt. has two bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, an office, a huge livingroom, a kitchen, and a small balcony. Each of the two bedrooms has a (European) queen sized bed, and the living room has Moroccan couches, which are couches that line the walls. We chose the mattress filling option for them, so there's room for another 3 adults to sleep there, with a curtain to close off the living room from the rest of the house. The apartment has a washing machine on the small patio with clotheslines right there, as well. (no gas/electric dryer) You will find it a very comfortable experience, especially for the visitor who is not used to traveling so far from home.

Our Location
Because our apt is located in the center of town, you can walk to the grocery store, the post office, shops, and to souks (which are the traditional outside shopping centers). If you like to walk, you can also take a stroll to and then along the Mediterranean Sea. Not far from this location is the city's port from which you can take a 35 minute ferry to Spain. Our corner is a great place for hailing taxis if you prefer riding to walking or if you want to go a bit farther away. Casa Barata is a huge indoor/outdoor Moroccan shopping center for new and used items from candy to rugs to electronics. And don't forget the beaches and the forested park! Oh, yes, and the ancient walls... In addition to the cultural and natural attractions here, there are a number of restaurants to enjoy. Take your choice between French restaurants, Thai, Chinese, Italian, and Moroccan dining amongst other options. Prices go from very expensive to very reasonable. You might enjoy the French-style bakeries, as well. There is so much to experience here. Come and discover this city for yourself! Tangier is a city of contrasts. You have the very poor and the extremely wealthy, the beauty and the littered streets. We feel safe here where we live, and we think you will, too, especially in our neighborhood. As American teachers, we are hoping to spend the summer at home in CA, so we're looking for an exchange from sometime at the beginning of July until school starts again. Our apartment here in Tangier is family friendly; singles are also welcome. In either case, we are looking for responsible people who will be considerate of neighbors and take good care of the apartment. No smoking at all inside the house. Home swappers must be culturally sensitive...ie wearing clothing that is not offensive to the neighbors, etc.
