INTRODUCING
G'day, I am a single 60 yo Swiss guy, with a persistent virus to travel. My country is Switzerland, but I lived in Australia for a while and also in the US. Except for that, I traveled quite a lot in Europe, and I would like to discover the rest of the world. My children are in different countries in Europe. I live alone in a little city on the southern part of the Alps, where, contrarily to the popular idea, the weather here is Mediterranean, never really cold. The main language is Italian. But don't worry for that, quite everyone is used to speak different languages here. Michel
About Our Home
This is a really old "lady", 300 yo ! But she has been totally renewed in 2010, the comfort is nice. There is 2 bedrooms, one with a double size bed. The living has a wood fire place (it is so nice during winter time!) and a private nice little terrace. The village is about 5 km out of Lugano, on an hill so well called Collina d'Oro (Golden Hill). If you are interested in architecture, you will find a lot of thing here. First example: the walls in my house are in some places 80 cm thick. Have you ever seen a roof totally made of stones? Here you are a the right place. IMPORTANT, you must consider having to climb 14 steep steps to reach the apartment! When you look at the picture you can see 3 floors. My one is that one just on the top of the external stair. Ah, I don't have any TV but can tell you how to watch it ...!! No pets and no smokers, please

Our Location
The house is "imbricated" . . . "overlapped" with many other as they did long time ago. The main entry is in a private court. In the village you will find a tiny shop for the essentials, at 20m of my house. Otherwise you have to go to the Lugano or Agno or Grancia, which are really close, to find everything. Would you like to discover what a Grotto is? You are on the right place ... a restaurant that has been directly dug on the slope of the hill. Try the brasato con polenta... hhhmmm... yummi!!! Do you have some concerns about the weather? Here you have the Alps and its freshness at less than 100 km and the italian plain and its scorcher at 30 km. They area is the southern extremity of the Alps, still mountainous but not that high. Just take a drive for 30 minutes, and you will be able to see the italian plain as well as the chain of the Alps. Lugano has a little regional airport (LUG), so you can consider to land really close. Otherwise select Zurich (ZRH) for Switzerland or Malpensa (MXP) for Italy.

Other Comments
Due to its location between Swiss german and Italy, you will have the chance to discover both culture and both variety of food very easily. At 2 km there is a sport center with a big swimming pool and a tennis court. Internet Wifi is free and unlimited. For the parking lot, you will find what you need at 100 m I do have no ideas when it will be free, just ask, and maybe it will give me a good idea to take some holiday ...
