INTRODUCING
Hi, we are GertPaul and Ellen. We have two sons, Boaz (4 years old) and Jesse (2,5 years old). We both work as student coaches with the Navigators in Utrecht. We have lived in Utrecht for many years and hope to add many more in this beautiful city. We love to stroll around Utrecht on a saturday or take the bike to go to the market in Utrecht. For an exchange we are interested in (south) England, or some other european country at a destination close to water (sea, lake, river). But a nice home swap in the Netherlands is an option as well.
About Our Home
We have a nice, newly built house in a friendly neighborhood. Our house has 4 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a living room with an open, simple kitchen. We have a garden and several bikes that can be used. Both the city and our house offer a good match to many different people: whether you're single or married, with or without kids, young or old, all more than welcome. You'll see that Utrecht has a lot to offer and that our house is a good place to stay.

Our Location
We live close to the centre of Utrecht, which has a very beautiful historic centre with the biggest and very old church tower of the Netherlands. Utrecht is known for its unique canals where you can drink or dine in one of the many restaurants. Lonely planet described Utrecht as one of the ten underestimated places in the world to visit. Utrecht has many beautiful churches and musea that are worth visiting, and has many fortresses and castles around the city. There are many shops and shopping malls, bars, cafe's, cinema's and festivals to go to. The surroundings of Utrecht offer beautiful scenery to walk, ride a bike or drive around by bus or car (rivers, forests, open country, windmills, etc). Because Utrecht is the centre of the Netherlands and has the biggest railway station of the country, you can easily go to any part of the country by train (norht, south, east and west in less than 2 hours mostly). By train or car, you're in the centre of Amsterdam in 30 minutes (beautiful city as well, but occupied by tourists, see Utrecht for authentic Dutch city life) in 30 minutes. On a saturday do visit the famous flower market or the cloth market in Utrecht or go to the regular market; all in the centre of Utrecht. The neighbourhood we live in is newly rebuilt 3 years ago . It's north of the centre, close to the river 'de Vecht' and easily accessable by bus. Shops are close by and we highly recommend a visit to the icecream shop and bakery at walking distance. A public in- and outdoor swimmingpool is close by and the 'maarseveense plassen' is a small lake where you can swim as well. Utrecht has many, many churches, several of which have English-spoken services or offer translation (like our church).
