INTRODUCING
We are a family of two teachers and 2 teenagers from Genk, ( 63,000 inhabtitants ) Belgium. Our town is situated in the East part of Flanders near to the Dutch and German border and only an hour from cities such as Brussels, Antwerp, Leuven. Great cycling routes in Limburg, our green province. Lots of recreational possibilities for children and parents. Maastricht & Aachen nearby.
About Our Home
Garden estate family home with spacious garden and comfortable recently renovated interior forms a perfect base for exploring the heart of Flanders, Belgium and Europe ! We have three bedrooms that will easily sleep 5 persons, the attic is converted into a spacious loft and serves as the third bedroom. Downstairs you can relax in the lounge & sitting room with well equipped internet corner so you won't have to miss out on what's going on at home ! The kitchen is up to date with large cooker and fridge and at the back of the house there's access to the garden with covered terrace and large garden shed. The garden is situated on the south-side of the house. Semi-detached building, quiet neighbourhood.

Our Location
The house is part of a residential suburb that was designed for a coalmining community. Beautiful architecture and an attractive mix of multi-cultural life are left today. Shops and market and cinema are only a street away, the bus stop is around the corner. Five minutes from the town-centre of Genk and the station, with connections to all major Belgian destinations. Great feature is the regional cycle network that almost passes by the house ( 5 bicycles available !) and that will take you to see all the great nature and recreation this area has to offer. Cultural cities such as Brussels (1h), Antwerp (1h ), Leuven (40'), Liège(30'), Gent (1,5h) and Brugge (2h) or Ostend (2h) can be a perfect day-outing by car or train. Over the border places like Maastricht (20') or Aachen (45') or Köln (1,5h) can give you that extra international feeling !

Neighbours are friendly and willing to help you out & make you feel at home !! We do have two guinea-pigs that would appreciate you feeding them once a day and one retired outside cat very friendly and no trouble at all, it just sits besides the house all day waiting for some attention and sleeps outside. For exchanges outside Europe, we are willing to swap cars - we drive a Volvo V50 Estate car.
