INTRODUCING
Hello, people tried to reach us, but it looks like this website doesn't work as it should. We couldn't get into contact with you! So try to reach us again and send us your e-mail address! Hello, we're Marc and Wilma. We're a Belgian-Dutch couple and have four kids; 3 girls (21,18,14) and 1 boy (10). Marc is a teacher at a public highschool where he teaches Protestants religion. Wilma is a stay-at-home mom and freelance writer. Our oldest is a student at a nearby university, other 3 children are still homeschooled. As a family we're also very active in our local church. We love to travel and in the past we've swapped houses several times, in the Netherlands, UK and Denmark. In 2012 we stayed with a christianhomeswap family in the States for a few weeks - what a hospitality!
About Our Home
Our home is a nice family home with lots of books, playstuff and instruments. It's 220 sqm. and with its high ceilings it feels very spacious. We love to welcome guests. Our house is situated in a little village and has a 1200 sqm garden. Downstairs we've a large living room with piano and library. In the fully equipped kitchen you can eat and outside there's a courtyard. Behind the house you'll find a 1200 sqm garden. On the first floor we have 3 bedrooms and a bathroom. The master bedroom is equipped with a good double bed. On the second floor we have 3 more rooms and another bathroom. At the back of our house we have a nice atelier. The're 5 bycicles for your use, children's bicycles and a go-cart. In the garden there is la lot of room to play and relax. Behind the trees you'll find a trampoline.

Our Location
We're in a little village and you can find everything you'll need at walking distance: supermarket, bank, bakery and pharmacy. You can walk up to our local castle, called Alden Biesen. Several walking routes passes our house. With the car you're in 10 min. in several surrounding cities. From there there you'll find direct connections to all big Belgian cities like Brussels, Liege, Antwerp and Bruges. From here you can also easily reach all kind of destinations outside Belgium. Bilzen is located in the east of Belgium, so it's close to the Dutch and German border and even the French border isn't that far away. The Dutch Roman city Maastricht is 15 min. from here. In walking distance you'll find the beautiful castle of Alden Biesen and the nearby city Tongeren is a roman city with several excavations and a very good Gallo-Roman Museum. With an old, romantic beguinage, convenient shopping area and great public playground you can have a great time there. It also carries the biggest Antiquemarket of the Benelux. We're in the Haspengouw region which is known for the fruit orchards. For daytrips there are a lot of great possibilities from old cities (Liege, Maastricht, Hasselt, Aachen, Köln) to museums, open air museums, zoo's, kajakking, hiking, visiting caves, wildpark etc. And in wintertime in the so-called Ardennes there is even a possibility for skiing (although the're some years without any snow!)

We're looking for a homeswap possibility for easter and summer 2017. We love our house and would like to give you the opportunity to stay here for a week around easter and for 10-14 days in July or August. We're quite flexible in our dates, although we've already fixed some dates for camps and outreaches. We're open to any offer, but we don't want to travel further than about 1000 kms this year.
