INTRODUCING
Hello. My wife and I live in the Czech Republic, near to the Polish border in the east. I would be interested in a swap with anyone in North Wales or the Wirral area or Chester but I'll also consider anywhere in the UK and Continental Europe. I don't know what's happening with regard to the managers of this site but I've tried contacting them a number of times about renewing my membership but I get no reply. So, until that happens, I'm not able to respond to messages, I'm afraid, through this website. About Our Home
I don't know what's happening with regard to the managers of this site but I've tried contacting them a number of times about renewing my membership but I get no reply. If I join again as a 'new' member then I can't access my current listing. So, until I can sort out this problem, I'm not able to respond to messages through this website even though I am able to read YOUR messages to me. Two bedrooms upstairs with one single bed and a king-sized bed and the same downstairs but with a double bed not a king-sized. Two kitchens, two bathrooms, each with separate showers and baths; two living rooms and two dining rooms plus. There is also a two person sauna with a shower in the cellar. There are two balconies upstairs and a porch downstairs. We live about a mile from the lake [see picture] where people swim and sunbathe and there is the possibility of hiring water-skiing equipment. Windsurfing and boating is also possible. There are also some nice walks and cycle paths in the area, particularly next to the river. Eating out is quite cheap; the beer [and wine] is much cheaper here than in Britain, so two people can eat out for less than a ten pounds Sterling. I have a friend who lives nearby and who speaks English so there would be help, should you need it. The village of Hlucín is less than a mile away from our house and it has a very pretty square in which to shop or have a drink, 'al fresco'. [see picture] We can let you have details of local churches, if you wish but there may not be translations available. Alternatively, you could worship at our home using our wi-fi internet facilities. I, also, have a collection of books, mainly Christian, but there are other kinds and I also have some DVDs and videos.

Our Location
Suburbs near a small town and a lake. Golf courses and tennis courts are near. Horse riding and windsurfing. There are some museums here in the area and there is a place which shows the old fortifications that were built to repel the anticipated German invasion in 1938. Of course, that was before the infamous 'Munich agreement' when the British and French promised not to intervene if Hitler 'liberated' the Sudetenland, a move which left the Czechs virtually defenceless. There is a website in English http://ftp.czechtourism.com/ where you can select an area. The areas near us are the Beskydy mountains - Walachian Region, and also Jeseniky mountains. The places in the mountains I would recommend are Lysa hora, Pustevny, Radhošt, Rožnov pod Radhoštem.

Other Comments
It's a nice area and the Jeseniky and Beskydy mountains are an hour away by car. Historic towns, like Opava and small villages are also near. There are some pictures on this website. http://en.db-city.com/Czech-Republic--Moravian-Silesia--Opava--Hlu%C4%8D%C3%ADn I've ticked the box, 'child friendly' meaning parents with young children are welcome to stay but, even though both balconies upstairs have railings, for an adventurous 6 year old child, it wouldn't be impossible for him or her to climb over the barrier. The stairs to the cellar are also quite steep but the door leading to them can be locked, for safety. The loft stairs also can be accessed so you would need to be careful with young children, as I'm sure you already are. The area is served quite well by the "budget" airlines such as Ryanair, Easyjet or Aer Lingus, so your airfare won't break the bank. Airports in Prague, Brno or Ostrava and many airports in Poland mean you get you here fairly quickly and cheaply from most places in Britain and Ireland and continental Europe. Personally, I often fly from Krakow to Liverpool because I most often visit the Wirral in the UK. If we exchanged, it may be possible to leave one of our cars at the airport for you to use when you arrived, assuming our dates of exchange overlapped.
