INTRODUCING
Hello! We are a family of five: Catherine (45) works as secretary in a music and dance school, Miro (45) is a free-lance translator, Viviane (17) Marco (14) and Anouchka (10) are 3 well-behaved children.
About Our Home
135 sqm modern, flat roof house with a 300 sqm garden. The exact location is Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande, touching Rennes by the South and near to the Rennes airport (low cost flights with Flybe; also, flights from Dinard with Ryanair). We live on a quiet one-way street and we own the house. There is a garage and another place for the car. Our house is children friendly. We have 4 bedrooms, one with a double bed, one with 2 single beds and two others with a double bed mezzanine. There is a sofa bed in the living room, which unfolds in a comfortable bed (if necessery). The living room (lots of natural light with the bay windows) opens onto the garden. We have a study with a PC (Wi-Fi Internet). Free calls to all landlines phones in all the EU and some other countries. The kitchen is fully equipped so if you have a cooking flair you can enjoy the best that the local markets have to offer.

Our Location
The neighbourhood, mixing houses and flats, is quiet and sympathetic. 3 minutes walking to a large supermarket, a pharmacy, a post office, a bar/pizzeria, a newspaper/tobacco kiosk, a fastfood and a bakery. For the hikers and the bikers, the nature is at only 200 meters. There's a beautiful golf course on 2 km of our house. Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande is in the immediate suburbs of Rennes. A direct bus connexion (every 10 minutes) takes you into the city centre in 15 minutes and the Rennes airport in 10 minutes. The bus stop to the center of Rennes is 100 meters away from our house. Possibility to use our bikes. Our car can be part of the exchange (an automatic gearbox Renault Scenic), useful for visiting Mont Saint-Michel, Saint-Malo, Vannes, Carnac, the Pink Granite Coast etc.

Rennes is known as one of the best places to live and the safest city of its size in France. Rennes is also one of the smallest towns in the world having an underground network, with a population of just 240,000. One of the first things you will notice upon your arrival is that Rennes is well-preserved, with many examples of architecture from the 15th and 16th Century. Architecture is one of the city's great treasures, and is a testimony to its historical role as capital of Brittany. From this period still survive many wood-and-pisé (timber-framed) houses. Shopping lovers will find what they are looking for in the city centre with the his pedestrian area full of shops. Must see places in Brittany Mont Saint-Michel, the Wonder of the Western World. One hour time from Rennes. Saint-Malo, the city of corsairs. One hour time from Rennes. Cancale, the world oyster capital, which coast is covered with taverns. 9 miles from Saint-Malo. Dinard, the Breton Deauville. 5 miles from Saint-Malo. Dinan, beautifull town with old houses, restaurants, "creperies", shops and bars. 45 minutes time from Rennes, on the road to Dinard. The famous Paimpont forest (Brocéliande), filled with tales about the Holy Grail, Arthur’s knights and magician Merlin, is at 30 miles west of Rennes. Vitré, a beautifull little city, at 25 miles east of Rennes. Vannes and the gulf of Morbihan, the "little see". 1h20 from Rennes. Carnac, the French Stonehenge. 1h50 from Rennes. The Lorient Interceltic festival (from 31 july to 9 august 2009). 2 hours time from Rennes. The Pink Granite Coast, 2h15 time from Rennes. If you want to go to Paris, the TGV (very fast train) leads you to Paris in 2 hours time. And for your kids, the Eurodisney park is on less than 3 hours time (everyday direct correspondance).
