INTRODUCING
We are Menco and Janice from Guelph, Ontario. We have 3 adult children and 3 younger children still living at home between the ages of 22 & 10.. We have family in the Netherlands so we plan on going there July to August 2019. We are also hoping to go to Lower Normandy in France for a mid-week trip during this time. Being from Canada, long trips are an every summer occurrence. Since we are both teachers, we have a number of weeks where we can take time away for a period of time. Out children are used to helping out and can entertain themselves while travelling. We are hoping to find a place to stay near St. Milo (Rennes) France and near the Zwolle (Nederland) vicinity. Our home is open for a swap for all or part of this time, or if you are not planning on a trip to Canada this year, maybe next summer our home will be available again for a couple of weeks.
About Our Home
Our home has an open concept on the main floor. It was built in 1940 and has been totally renovated during the past 8 years to a warm, comfortable dwelling. We have the kitchen, living room, laundry, 1 bathroom, and master bedroom on the main level. A bedroom and 2nd shower/toilet in the basement, along with a play area. The second floor has 3 bedrooms and a sitting area. We are situated on a half acre property with beautiful gardens, plenty of butterflies, and birds, bird songs to see and hear while sitting on the front porch, or on the partially covered back deck. There is also a patio with a fireplace in a shady spot beside a large 2 vehicle shop. An above ground pool is also open all summer. Use of one car is an option. 2019 - available from July 11- August 5

Our Location
Our home is backed on the Welland River with farmland across the road. There are many hiking trails and beautiful parks within driving distance, including the Bruce Trail. Niagara-on-the-Lake has museums, theatre, and an nice downtown centre. We are 1 hour away form Toronto, (CN Tower) and 35 minutes from Niagara Falls. Bike paths along the Niagara River.- from which you can see America, and visit the Shaw festival for live theatrical performances. New York State, USA, and Niagara wine country are all within less than an hour. St. Jacobs which is the heart of Mennonite country is a 1 1/2 hour drive . Also, we are about 1 hour from the African Lion’s Safari. We live in a gorgeous part of Ontario where the county side has many rolling hills, high cliffs, deep gorges. Check out Port Dalhousie, Statford (live theatre), Pinery Park, Elora Gorge, Rattle Snake Point, or Crawford Lake!

John McCrae's, who wrote the poem In Flanders Field, home is in Guelph. Scottish stone masons settled in Guelph and its nearby town of Fergus, so many of the older buildings are solid stone. Lake Erie, Lake Ontario, and Lake Huron are fresh water lakes all within driving distance to camp or spend a day at the beach.
